Nature seeks balance, and a devastating economic crash that paralyzes the nanny state and sends the western world back into a new dark age would be one way that men could regain equal footing with the opposite sex. A Planet X or galactic alignment related natural disaster would be another. Either way, something has to give here because the situation as it stands now is totally fucked up.
