States Of Distress: You Cannot Spin FRED Data

The FRED website is the best thing to ever happen to economic analysis. The breadth of the data and the functionality of the charts really puts it in a league of its own. I'll be the first to agree that the government promotes propaganda and tries to put a positive or negative spin on a situation depending on the agenda and circumstance, but I also have to say that they do not completely hide the truth because if that were the case FRED would not exist. If you want to be conned, they'll be happy to arrange that for you. If you want to know what's really going, they'll arrange that, too.

I've been going through the Consumer Distress Index charts for the most populous US states, and as I suspected they follow the same distressing collapse pattern I pointed out yesterday with the meta indexes.
