Every time I run out of charts to analyze, I go to the Business Insider site for inspiration. They never fail to give me something to blog about. The specific article that is making my blood boil right now has the title "The 29 Ugliest Charts In The World".
Now if I were a psychoanalyst I would be asking my patient, "do you really believe that you are ugly?" I mean seriously, I know "ugly" is a provocative word that is sure to get some attention, but I guarantee you "beautiful girls" is going to get a lot more hits than "ugly girls" so their choice of title seems really strange to me. Maybe they have a self esteem problem over there.
I'll admit that there are some good charts in their charticle. Throw 29 charts against a wall and a few of them are bound to stick. I just want to make one thing clear: there's a big difference between publishing an economic chart and analyzing an economic chart.
